AUD/USD hits fresh 1-week high

FXstreet.com (Córdoba) - The AUD/USD extended gains and reached fresh daily highs during the American session, as the US currency retreated across the board.

AUD/USD supported by stocks

AUD/USD broke above 0.9300 and scored a 1-week high of 0.9343, also supported by a positive opening in Wall Street and gold's bounce. At time of writing, AUD/USD is trading at the 0.9330 zone, still up 0.8% on the day.

The Australian dollar was holding surprisingly well against a solid greenback before the data and despite gold slump, and received a fresh boost at the beginning of the NY session.

As for technical levels, immediate resistances are seen at 0.9343 (daily high), 0.9365 (200-hour SMA) and 0.9375 (10-day SMA), while supports could be found at 0.9235 (daily low/100-hour SMA) and 0.9200 (psychological level).
